LANCET SOFTWARE NAMED 2006 MINNESOTA WORK-LIFE CHAMPION

MAR
16

BURNSVILLE, MN - Lancet Software was recently recognized again as great place to work when it received a 2006 (Silver) Minnesota Work-Life Champion Award. The award honors Minnesota employers who create a flexible and supportive workplace and enable their employees to meet a dual agenda -- meeting family and personal responsibilities and achieving business objectives -- while also offering some of the best employee benefits in the country and an Open Book Culture where even the company's monthly financial statements are shared among all employees.

The first annual Minnesota Work-Life Champions Awards™ were sponsored and presented by The Minnesota Work-Life Champions Partnership, a group of local chambers of commerce, business and professional associations, foundations, and non-profit work-life advocacy organizations committed to making Minnesota's employers the strongest in the nation. The awards program was initiated by a grant from The McKnight Foundation and is managed and organized by the Center for Ethical Business Cultures with assistance from Work and Family Connection, Inc.

"The founders of this organization wanted to create a place to work where people shared a culture of ownership and leadership, and our employees always tell us that we've succeeded," says Susan Bjork, head of Lancet's Human Resource department. "We're honored to receive the award and so are our clients, who benefit directly from Lancet's workplace culture. We're able to retain the best and brightest Information Technology veterans in the market. Our customers know the same people will still be available to work on new projects or trouble shoot on older ones because we have next to no turnover."

About the Minnesota Work-Life Champion Awards

Applicants in four size categories, based on the number of employees, were evaluated on their organizational culture and leadership; work practices and flexibility; health, wellness and benefits; help with personal and family issues; and community involvement. Finalists were also evaluated based on a survey that was administered to a random sampling of employees from each company. The judging panel for the 2006 awards was comprised of ten delegates from Minnesota businesses of varying sizes and industries. Visit www.worklifechampions.org for more information.
