LANCET SOFTWARE NAMED AGAIN "BEST PLACE TO WORK" BY MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL BUSINESS JOURNAL

Four-time winner rates high for generous employee benefits package and Open Book Culture.

BURNSVILLE, MN - Lancet Software has been named one of the Twin Cities' "Best Places to Work" in the annual survey published by Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal for the fourth time in its 10-year history. Lancet provides Business Intelligence (BI) services cross-industry with Fortune 1000 clients in retail, healthcare and financial services as well as web design, maintenance and hosting for small to medium-sized companies. Making the 2007 list in the Small Companies category (10-100 employees), Lancet currently employs 30 people who work onsite, offsite in virtual environments, or a combination of both, demonstrating the significant flexibility the company offers its employees.

The Business Journal's award results are determined largely from employee input about the work environment, the company's ability to embrace innovation and new ideas, people practices, personal growth opportunities and development, and daily operations. The survey was conducted by Quantum Market Research of Wichita, Kansas. More than 200 companies competed this year with winners being honored September 13 at a luncheon and awards banquet at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.

The award marks the fourth time Lancet Software has been recognized as a Best Place to Work. According to Lancet President, Tom Niccum, more than 60% of the company has tenure of seven years or more and a turnover rate of less than 5% -- even during the dotcom boom when the IT turnover rate was averaging 25%. Lancet also has an award winning benefits package that rivals many larger companies. The Principal Financial Group® has also recognized Lancet as one of "The Principal 10 Best Companies in the nation for its Employee Financial Security, " based on dedication to its employees' excellent benefits, including a package worthy of many Fortune 100 companies. Among the perks:

  • Lancet offers two rich health insurance plans in which it pays 93% and 100% of the deductibles respectively
  • 100% dental coverage
  • A bonus incentive that takes into account the company's and the individual's quarterly performance
  • Other valued employee benefits such as flex time and telecommuting
  • Educational allowances (up to $2,000 per employee)
  • Employee-matched donations for charities: Dakota Woodlands, Minnesota Valley Humane Society, ImagineAsia, and Camp Getta-Wella

"Ten years ago when Lancet was founded, we made a commitment to honor a set of guiding principles that would make Lancet a Best Place to work every day," says Tom Niccum, President and one of five "Flounders" (what the "founders regularly call themselves). "This year's recognition continues to validate that our 'Open Book' culture and benefits plan are powerful incentives for employees and the company as a whole. We share financial information, new business highlights, policies, and strategy with everyone. There's no such thing as too much information," Niccum adds.
