Introduction
Schedules are a great way to automate repetitive, time-sensitive, time-consuming, and bulk tasks. One example is to schedule an Administrative Task to purge cache after a nightly data load. This can be accomplished using the steps below:
Step 1
Launch MicroStrategy Desktop and choose Configuration Managers > Schedules.

Step 2
Right-click on Schedules and choose New > Schedule.

Step 3
Name your new schedule.

Step 4
Choose the type of schedule you wish to create.

Step 5
Select the start and end dates.

Step 6
Choose the recurrence pattern for you schedule.

Step 7
Review your settings and click Finish.

Step 8
Right-click on schedules again and choose Schedule Administration Tasks.

Step 9
Choose your project, action, and schedule (the Cluster option is new in version 9. You will need to schedule each node separately if you are running version 8 or earlier).
